Welcome to IWantThemToRemember.Com!
Hello, Friend!
I’m so honored you are spending your valuable time at IWantThemToRemember.com.
You might wonder: Who do I want to remember what ?
When I say I want them to remember, the THEM includes all of the people in my sphere of influence.
My first ministry is to my family, then my church, then my community, then my world. I want to spend time with the people I love Creating Lifelong Memories of Everyday Moments and I want to help you do the same.
I am a pastor’s wife and homeschool mom of eight blessings, six biological and two adopted from China. I have parents, in-laws, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins. Naturally, most of my time is spent making memories with my immediate family and parents, but my extended family is an important part of my life as well.
I love Jesus, so I love His bride, the church. I have a Master’s Degree in Christian Education, and I spent over 25 years serving the local church by ministering to teenagers and their parents, but hopefully, to more of my brothers and sisters in Christ as well. Someday, when God calls us elsewhere, I want them to leave them with lifelong memories.
Whether through a trip to the library, pharmacy, or grocery store, I come across friends and strangers regularly. I want them to remember the love Christ shown through me. I live in a rural town in Mississippi with some wonderful people, but even here in the Bible belt not everyone knows Christ, and those who do still need encouragement.
Through the ease of travel and the internet, our world is getting smaller daily. Occasionally, I have the chance to travel, but I can also connect with others around the world through social media and with those like you who are reading this blog. I want you to remember to live for Christ and to create lifelong memories in everyday moments in your own circle of influence.
WHAT I want them to remember is not quite as simple.
Sometimes, I am so afraid my children will look back and remember mostly the difficult days of conflict and tears. Instead, I want the special moments to so far outnumber and outshine those inevitable bad days that warm feelings of love and security overcome them when they think of home and family.
I want them to remember so many things, including academics, faith, and family. I want them to remember the good times, the important values, and the lessons learned from the hard times. Most of all, I want them to remember the words of Jesus.
In youth ministry I have a window of about six to seven years to partner with parents and make an impact for Christ on the lives of teenagers. When they leave the church doors weekly and when they leave the youth ministry after graduation, I want them to remember the principles from God’s Word that will direct the decisions they make on a daily basis.
Life is so busy in our culture that too often our days pass by in a blur and before we blink, weeks, months, and years are gone. When I interact with people anywhere, whether in life or online, I want them to remember the abundant life Christ brings and the love of His people.
How can I Want Them to Remember Blog help you?
I’m confident many of you are much like me. You want people in your life to remember special moments and important things for a lifetime. I will encourage you in your walk with Christ and share ways you can create lifelong memories of everyday moments with those you love.
Naturally, memories I am creating include what I want them to remember about homeschooling and adoption since it is such a big part of our lives. These posts will give encouragement and practical suggestions for homeschooling or adoptive/potential adoptive parents.
Thanks for visiting!
I invite you to join me as we spend time creating lifelong memories of everyday moments. May we be able to look back and see the hand of God at work in specific moments, both good and bad. I pray that these thoughts and ideas will encourage you in your walk with Christ and in the memories you make with those God has placed in your path.

Hi Marsha – My name is Mary Sutherland. I’m the Children’s Ministries Director at our church. I was looking online for ideas for Valentine’s devotionals for our young families and came across your site. I was planning on putting together my own devotions, but love your Seven Days of Valentine’s Devotions. May I have permission to share your devotions in printed form to distribute to our families? I would give credit to you, of course, and share your website, as well. Please advise!
Hi, Mary, send me an email to marsha@iwantthemtoremember.com and we’ll figure it out. Thanks!
Marsha,
I would like to start a Beta Club for Homeschool students. How should I go about that?
Thanks,
Karen
